For the Wild at Heart
The Wilderness is not for the conventional.
It’s for the free-spirited, the creative, the lovers who feel most alive beneath open skies.
Hidden away on an enchanting family-run farm in Kent, far from the crowds and untouched by the ordinary, The Wilderness is a private world of woodland, lakes and sweeping water meadows. Here, nature isn’t just your backdrop — it’s part of the celebration.
Gather your favourite people and escape into something magical.
A Celebration Rooted in Nature
Imagine feasting on incredible food cooked over open fires. Glasses filled with locally sourced wines. Laughter drifting through the trees as the sun melts into a golden, dreamy sunset.
Guests wander freely through woodland glades, fairy lights begin to twinkle, and the air hums with that unmistakable festival feeling — relaxed, joyful and beautifully unstructured.
This is a wedding that unfolds naturally.
Say “I Do” — Your Way
The Wilderness offers two licensed settings for legally binding civil ceremonies and partnerships.
The Woodman’s Cabin & Chapel Tent
Overlooking the lake and endless Wilderness beyond, these spaces can host up to 120 guests. The cabin can be enclosed for comfort or opened wide to let the outside in — framing uninterrupted views of water and woodland.
The Boat-Zebo
For something truly unique, exchange vows beneath a charming upturned vintage wooden boat with canopy, set on the banks of the beautiful Deerson Lake. Romantic, unexpected and wonderfully wild.
Prefer a humanist or alternative ceremony?
The entire woodland becomes your canvas. Beneath the trees, by the water’s edge, in a hidden glade — the choice is yours.
Feast, Dance, Celebrate
At the heart of your reception stand the magnificent giant Kata tipis — magical structures that blend seamlessly into the landscape.
Two tipis create an atmospheric dining space, where guests gather around handmade rustic trestle tables and benches for a relaxed and joyful wedding breakfast.
A third tipi offers a dedicated drinks reception area and ensures the celebration continues whatever the weather — giving you that unforgettable festival atmosphere, come rain or shine.
With seven carefully selected accredited caterers to choose from, you’ll have a wealth of dining options — from refined feasting to laid-back sharing banquets — all delivered with exceptional quality and flexibility to suit your style and budget.
Moments of Calm & Beauty
Tucked amongst the trees sits a truly special treasure — an original wooden Shepherd’s Hut dating back to circa 1910.
This magical hideaway serves as a private retreat and dressing space, offering a peaceful pause before the celebration begins. It’s also an idyllic setting for photographs — intimate, romantic and timeless.
Sleep Beneath the Stars
When the music fades and the fire pits glow low, there’s no need for taxis or goodbyes.
The Wilderness offers glamping for you and up to 60 guests in beautifully styled bell tents, complete with chandeliers, proper raised wooden beds and sturdy flooring — comfort wrapped in rustic charm.
Wake the next morning to birdsong, soft light filtering through canvas, and coffee shared with the people you love most.
It’s not just a wedding day.
It’s a wedding experience — wild, soulful and completely your own.
If you’re dreaming of something different, something deeply personal and immersed in nature, The Wilderness would love to welcome you.
