The Box is Plymouth’s fantastic new museum, gallery and archive – ideally located right on the edge of the city centre. The largest cultural attraction to open in the UK in 2020, our venue provides a jaw-dropping space for civil ceremonies and receptions.
Seven areas are licensed for ceremonies and include beautiful and unusual backdrops. Where else could you get married in front of a life sized woolly mammoth or surrounded by artworks by artists like Sir Joshua Reynolds, Barbara Hepworth and Beryl Cook?
We can cater for ceremony and receptions from two to 200 guests. All our packages include the hire of your ceremony and reception space, a complimentary bottle of champagne, access to our ground floor galleries and an annual membership to The Box for the happy couple.
Our awarding winning on-site caterers, Fosters, will work with you to create the perfect menu for your day. All their ingredients are locally sourced and combine classic flavours with creative dishes. You can enjoy this decadent fare under our flotilla of figureheads or in one of our galleries if you’d prefer a more intimate experience.
Whatever the size or style of your ceremony or reception, we have a space that would suit your needs at The Box. Get in touch today via the Amazing Space Weddings website by sending us an enquiry.

Say 'I do' in one of Plymouth's most iconic buildings. Smeaton's Tower is an 18th century lighthouse. It was originally built on the Eddystone Reef and is now a well-known landmark on the city's waterfront.
