The perfect setting for your special day, Hatfield Place is an exquisite Georgian country house wedding venue located in the heart of Essex. The house sits within 15 acres of mature gardens and includes a nurtured and intricately planted Walled Garden. Each room has been beautifully furnished and effortlessly complements all styles of wedding, whether you are looking for small and intimate or a larger lavish affair.

We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies in a number of beautiful locations both inside and out. For intimate ceremonies, the Ballroom has been exquisitely furnished to create a calm and romantic setting for up to 80 guests. This beautiful room with original oak floor, gentle grey tones and rich silk draping, is a true reflection of country house grandeur. For larger guest numbers of up to 200, the stunning oak-beamed Ceremony Hall with its beautiful high ceiling, walled garden views and gallery area is a spectacular space to hold your nuptials.

If an outdoor wedding is your preference, you will be spoilt for choice between The Terrace, The Lawn Gazebo and the Walled Garden Pergola. All three locations offer a pretty and tranquil setting with seating for up to 150 guests. If you are considering a church wedding, located just a few miles from the grounds are two beautiful churches.


The Reception Hall, Drawing Room, Terrace and grounds offer the perfect location for your drinks reception, so whatever the weather, whatever the season, your day will remain flawless. And just a stone’s throw from the main house is the beautiful red brick Walled Garden which cascades over three tiers, with each tier encompassing manicured lawns, blossom trees and much more.

Situated on the lower tier is our stunning Orangery providing a contemporary light filled space overlooking the gardens. This beautiful room with its full length windows, natural oak floor and part exposed brickwork offers a blend of rustic charm and modern-day chic, perfect for your wedding breakfast and evening reception with full bar and twinkly dance floor. Catering is provided by our three premium suppliers with each one offering a selection of delicious mouth-watering menus.

When the evening draws to a close, the luxurious Bridal Coach House is the perfect retreat for you both, whilst your guests can retire to one of our twelve chic and stylish bedroom suites; the perfect end to a very special day.
