Amazing Scottish Wedding Venues
12th April 2022

Scotland hosts a range of beautiful, diverse choices for wedding venues across the country, from charming castles to brilliant barns, regal country houses to rustic outdoor venues. Take a peek at some of our favourite Scottish venues in time for your wedding!
Marlins Wynd
Edinburgh, Scotland
This venue is part of the ‘Unusual Venues of Edinburgh Collection’, a multi-award winning wedding venue group that host 3 spectacular options for your big day in Edinburgh. Marlin’s Wynd can accommodate weddings of 40 to 50 for the day and then up to 120 in the evening. This enchanting venue spans centuries of Scottish history from Georgian Reception Room to the Main Vault which dates back to the 1540's.
Between its Georgian reception room and vaulted cellars, Marlin's Wynd spans centuries of Scottish history. Entered from Blair Street, the reception area is part of a typical Edinburgh Georgian tenement built in 1787, while the cellars below - part of the original Marlin's Wynd - were constructed in the 1540's.
The modern facilities are blended perfectly into the old features of the venues, providing an unforgettable atmosphere and giving you the romantic and exclusive day that you have been dreaming of.
Carlowrie Castle
Kirkliston, West Lothian
Have you ever dreamed of getting married in a Scottish castle – your own castle? Why not have the day you've always dreamed of in a stunning setting that is all yours? Weddings at Carlowrie combine the luxury of the Castle, the stunning new marquee, the idyllic walled garden and 32 acres of perfectly manicured grounds that together provide the perfect ingredients for an incredibly special day.
Originally built in 1852, the castle underwent a £4 million, 2 year refurbishment and opened as a wedding and events venue in 2015. Less than a year after opening this resulted in Carlowrie being recognised as one of the top 3 venues in Europe with under 200 bedrooms at The International Hotel & Property Awards 2016.
Celebrations have gone on in Carlowrie since 1852 when it was built and the Carlowrie Castle team have learned more than a few things about throwing legendary celebrations since opening in 2015!
Comrie Croft
Crieff, Northern Highlands
If you are looking for a place to get married that isn't a formal wedding venue, where you can do your own thing - outdoors in the birchwoods and meadows, in the barn or farmstead courtyard; where there is plenty of simple accommodation included so that everyone can stay and make a house party of it and where you can relax and be yourselves, then Comrie Croft may be the place for you!
What makes Comrie Croft different? Weddings here tend to be informal affairs with a relaxed house-party or even festival atmosphere. As you are not hiring a hotel, by and large you can do things the way you want. The barn is a blank canvas, so it does help to have some more lighting and/or decoration to make it look its best - its amazing what even some greenery, tea lights and straw bales can do!
Whatever you choose for your big day, Comrie Croft will be there to offer as much friendly advice and encouragement as you need while you design your perfect day.

The Caves
Edinburgh, Edinburgh & Lothian
Another member of the ‘Unusual Venues of Edinburgh’ group, The Caves is the largest venue within their incredible collection.
The Caves is a truly unique venue that makes up the sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge. There is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves, or more Scottish, if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as "Whisky Row".
Every room has a special place in Scottish history - from vaults that served as the stables to the French Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date the Bridge itself - with the original terracotta floor tiles still intact!
Today, after over 100 years of being lost, the hidden Edinburgh vaults were rediscovered and the original stone vaults of the Old Town Edinburgh have been magnificently restored by the current Managing Director, Norman Rowan junior.
With great regard for preserving the authenticity and history of this venue, for many years they have painstakingly excavated these vaults which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, thus creating this spectacular and very unique venue.

Located in the iconic Templeton Building in the heart of Glasgow's biggest park, Glasgow Green, WEST is home to a working brewery, beerhall, restaurant and wedding venue. This venue is both beautiful and unusual and each wedding hosted at WEST is as unique as the 'Hoppy Couple' celebrating.
