Wookey Hole Caves is a wedding venue in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of Somerset, England. Located deep beneath the picturesque, rolling hills lies the ultimate fairy tale destination, where wonder and possibility flit and permeate the atmosphere like echoes off the cave’s ancient and majestic chambers.

Wookey Hole Caves comprises 3 chambers featuring stunning rock formations and clear pools, all illuminated by dancing candlelight. The largest chamber can hold up to 110 guests, but the caves are also a perfect setting for more intimate ceremonies.

The Water Wheel Suite is also available for above-ground ceremonies. This unique and elegant function room is located in Wookey Hole’s 17th Century Grade II listed Paper Mill. The suite features exposed brickwork that gives the space a rustic, welcoming feel.

The venue also boasts a delightful restaurant, which can seat up to 200 reception guests. The restaurant is fitted with colourful ceiling drapes, fine chandeliers, and lovely decorative mirrors and includes an adjoining bar. Overnight accommodation for you and your guests is available at the Wookey Hole Hotel, situated within easy walking distance of the caves and restaurant. The hotel has 58 guest rooms plus a 2-storey VIP Tower Suite for you and your new spouse. Your stay in the Tower Suite also includes a complimentary breakfast, a bottle of the venue’s finest champagne and a family ticket to the Wookey Hole attractions.

Due to the nature of Wookey Hole, wedding ceremonies in the caves are from 5pm onwards, apart from select days in December, January and February, where the site is closed to the public but open for your special day – please ask for specific dates.
