Overlooking the majestic sweep of Chesil beach and the wide expanse of Lyme Bay on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, The Seaside Boarding House is an oasis of relaxed sophistication with direct access to the beach. Inspired by a mixture of classic British Edwardian hotels and the Cape Cod paintings of Edward Hopper, the Hotel provides a unique collaboration of both the old and the new.

We are licensed to hold ceremonies for marriages and civil partnerships from a small group to a 120 person wedding. Whether you dream of a small and intimate service and celebration in our library, to a lavish wedding with exclusive-use of the entire property, The Seaside Boarding House can help with every aspect of your wedding and the planning of your event from start to finish. We will work closely with the bride & groom to plan every detail and we can also provide a network of local experts to assist with any further needs.



If you are looking for a church service, then take a short stroll across the fields behind us to the beautiful village church of Burton Bradstock. Perfect for a traditional ceremony and we can take care of all the other bits.

Our menus champion produce from Dorset's fishing boats, farms and smallholdings. Choices can be made from our à la carte party menus or a totally bespoke wedding feast can be prepared. Our Head Chef and management team are here to help.

Each of our nine bedrooms is within sight and sound of the sea, whether looking straight out across the water or along the cliff tops to Golden Cap or the isle of Portland. Lovely bathrooms, some with a shower, some with a large claw-footed bath.

For a larger party, there are numerous comfortable B&B’s & self-catering properties in the village of Burton Bradstock or in the market town of Bridport less than 3 miles away. Exclusive-use of the venue is subject to the owner’s discretion. The whole space can be extended at an additional cost by erecting a marquee over the terrace.
