Lainston House is a beautiful 17th century mansion house nestled in 63 acres of grounds within the Hampshire countryside and boasting plenty of history and character. Soaked in sunshine during the summer months, our pavilion on the South Lawn is the perfect place to exchange your vows. During cosy winter months, our Dawley Barn, with an original roaring fireplace, is the ideal spot for your celebrations.

As you turn into the long, sweeping, tree-lined drive, you are immediately transported to a world far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Delicate archways and loggias frame the picture perfect entrance and a small amble reveals a beautiful 12th century chapel ruin. With the mile-long avenue of lime trees as a backdrop there are stunning photo opportunities all year round. Not only will your guests be in awe of the stunning scenery throughout your big day, but you will also have the abundance of beautiful backdrops to choose from.

Our Dawley Barn is the perfect combination of a grand country house mixed with a rustic feel. With a licenced capacity of 120 for a ceremony but the ability to host smaller intimate ceremonies as well, the Dawley Barn is the perfect space for an indoor ceremony at Lainston House whatever your guest numbers. Boasting original features and a gorgeous working fireplace, it really is the most romantic setting to start the rest of your forever together!

During our summer months, our outdoor pavilion is available for a fully licensed civil ceremony. Situated on our South Lawn, our pavilion is directly opposite our Drawing Room creating the perfect aisle through the grounds. Our pavilion can be decorated by your florist with flowers, candles and beautiful decorations to match your colour scheme to turn it in to a real "wow" factor. We always think of a wet weather option for the Pavilion, usually being our Dawley Barn.

Our gorgeous drawing room is the perfect setting for your drinks reception should the weather not be on our side. With stunning views of the grounds, comfy seating and a beautiful working fireplace at one end, it really is the perfect space to spend time with your friends and family after saying your ‘I do’s’!

If you are thinking of having a large number of guests, then our stunning South Lawn is the perfect location for marquees of up to 350 for your wedding breakfast and evening wedding reception. And If the grounds weren’t enough, Lainston House also offers a beautiful Kitchen Garden and stunning Falconry which can both be incorporated in to your big day to make it a truly special occasion.

Lainston House is located just 2 miles north-west of Winchester and has a collection of 50 individually designed bedrooms and stylish suites. Some have ornate poster beds, all have sumptuous handmade mattresses and many have picture postcard views – a truly relaxing setting for a pampered bride the night before the big day or a memorable setting for your first night of married bliss! And your wedding guests are eligible for a very special accommodation rate when they stray overnight with us. If you think most of your guests would like to stay at Lainston House on the wedding night you may decide to take the hotel on an exclusive-use basis, where the hotel and grounds will be exclusively yours on your wedding day.
