Kinmount House is a magnificent, 19th Century country house wedding venue nestled within 2000 acres of scenic surroundings with lakes and parkland in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. The venue is licensed for civil and religious ceremonies, allowing all aspects of wedding celebrations to be held on-site. Couples will be spoilt for choice when choosing from the many beautiful event spaces available at Kinmount House.

The Orangery offers a delightful setting for an indoor ceremony for up to 70 guests; for elopements and smaller parties, the Lakeside Victorian Bathing House provides a most tranquil and romantic setting. The bride (or the couple) will arrive by boat across the Lake with the magnificent backdrop of Kinmount House in the distance. This location will accommodate up to 16 guests and offers intimacy and seclusion for you and your wedding party.

Another popular lakeside ceremony choice is our spectacular Italian Steps. The rising steps makes viewing easy as the couple say their vows down by the water's edge. This space can cater for larger wedding parties with standing room only.



For your drinks receptions, guests can relax and mingle on the lawn while you and your beloved enjoy the Italian Gardens during your wedding photos.

With such a choice of stunning outdoor locations for your wedding, we must not forget the elegance of The Grand Ballroom which is perfect for those wishing to get married inside and caters for wedding parties of up to 120 guests. With views across the parkland over to the Lake District, log fires and 2 spectacular chandeliers, this is a very popular choice for larger wedding parties.

Your wedding breakfast is served in our brand new Pavilion on the Yew Lawn with a lovely terrace and lawn for children to play on. The Pavilion will seat up to 180 guests for your reception with a further 70 guests for your evening party celebrations. It offers underfloor heating, floor-to-ceiling window walls, custom-made furniture, and much more. This idyllic event setting can be utilised year-round, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of this location no matter the season.

And if you would like to stay overnight, there are luxury accommodation apartments and cottages available on site which sleep up to 42 people as well as a selection of bedroom suites in the main house.
