Stone Barn and stunning Courtyard Wedding Venue in East Sussex

Hendall Manor Barns is a privately owned wedding and events venue occupying an elevated position south of the Ashdown Forest in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We offer exclusive use of the venue which is ideal for bespoke wedding ceremonies and receptions. The facilities include a stunning enclosed courtyard and terrace, undercover parking, a large kitchen for the caterers and disabled access throughout. In addition, we also have on-site self-catering accommodation available for up to 8 guests in a beautiful 17th century sandstone Barn, with an additional converted Piggery.

The glorious split level Stone Barn is very adaptable for weddings and receptions, formal dining, ceremonies and dancing. It has rough stone walls, sophisticated lighting and excellent acoustics. Clients are encouraged to use the internal space creatively, with a wide range of tried and tested caterer’s to choose from. We have a wonderful team of catering companies that we regularly work with and they can create a bespoke menu just for you.

There are no ‘wedding packages’ and couples are free to make imaginative use of the space available. Whether you are looking for a relaxed but sophisticated barbeque, vintage style tea party or formal seated wedding breakfast, the buildings can be easily adapted and decorated to realise your ideas.


Together with the south-facing terrace and lawns, Hendall Manor Barns provides a lovely setting for your special day. Our pond, wooden swing, orchard, fields and private lawns offer wonderful opportunities to capture some fantastic photography.

Our team will be on hand to assist with anything you require throughout your time with us. We will oversee and guide you accordingly and come to collect you and your bridal party to meet with the Registrars, pre-ceremony.

We provide undercover parking for all suppliers and guests enabling a dignified and hassle free arrival and departure, especially if the weather is inclement. We are also very well equipped for disabled guests with ramps providing access to all areas of the venue.

Hendall is licensed to hold Civil Marriages and Partnerships and we work with a number of local Celebrants who will offer you a uniquely tailored wedding ceremony, should you wish to opt for a celebrant led ceremony. Couples can arrange the seating in whatever layout they desire, either for an intimate gathering or for a much larger number of guests.
