Gote Barn is Managed and Catered by Circa Events. With over 25 years’ experience in the wedding industry, we can help you create the wedding you have always dreamed of. We have a wealth of experience in both catering and event organising, and our expert wedding co-ordinators will make sure that your day runs smoothly from beginning to end.

Located just outside Lewes in Sussex is nestled away in the heart of the East Sussex countryside, it would make a truly idyllic venue to host your wedding day. Perfect for a beautiful countryside wedding, with the barns rustic and original charm as the background for your big day, the venue has a capacity for up to 180 seated guests for the day and up to 250 in the evening. With a lawn for drinks & canapes, and the option to add a stretch tent for rain cover or shade, the barn is perfect if you are looking for a venue to personalise and bring to life!

Venue Hire
The venue runs from May-October each year. 2025 is now fully booked, Venue Hire for 2026 is £5,000.00. This includes:


  • 3 day access to the venue (Day before the Wedding, the Wedding day and day after the Wedding)
  • Round tables & Classic Gold chairs
  • Fairy Light Canopy
  • Toilet building
  • Wooden bar
  • Raised stage
  • Car parking facilities
  • Outdoor drinks reception space including Stretch Tent for shelter/shade with lights & bunting, hay bales & pallets
  • Lawn Games

Although the Barn is not licensed for Legal Wedding Ceremonies, we can host beautiful Celebrant-Led Ceremonies, or there are many places nearby where you could get married (Southover Grange, Lewes Registry Office, Brighton Town Hall, Ringmer Church as examples) before coming to Gote Farm for your Wedding Reception.

This venue is really special and you'll have exclusive hire and the chance to hold your wedding at a really unique and charming venue!

We can cater for every need, whether that’s a four-course fine dining meal with delicate canapés, or sharing boards, or a feasting BBQ served to your guests ‘family style’.

We couldn’t have picked a better caterer/venue manager in the team at Circa. We sing their praises to anyone who will listen. We got married in summer 2022, postponed from Summer 2020. Circa are an incredible team and I’d highly recommend them to anyone! They have a stunning selection of places they look after but special mention to Gote Barn, our glorious venue in the South Downs.

We ended up being in contact with Circa for 2.5 years about our wedding due to the pandemic, and they had the utmost professionalism throughout. The way they handled the changes and the pandemic was exemplary. We had three date changes and a venue change! They were considerate, understanding and communicated superbly. All we could ask for in what was a difficult time for everyone. In the run up to our wedding day the entire team were helpful, always responding quickly and very patient with all our last minute requests. Sara and Liv were exceptional in helping us plan the day, and Ben and his team were brilliant on the day itself. They were just the best and made every moment relaxed, fun and flexible. They were always there - but never intrusive, just making everything went smoothly behind the scenes.

We chose Circa because they are 'food led’. And the food didn’t disappoint. It was plentiful and divine. I am still thinking about the prawn taco canape and the BBQ food and salads. It was all stunning. And the gelato bike was very welcomed by all! We loved our wedding day and Circa played a massive role in making it the success it was.

Dear Circa, We would like to say a massive thank you for everything that was done to make our wedding at Gote barn last Saturday the most amazing day of our lives! Through planning, Marc and Sara were so wonderful at keeping us in the loop, helping us plan the different stages and answering questions promptly when they arose! On the day (and the day before) we were supported by the amazing Event manager Katie. Nothing was too much for her, she assured us the day before that everything would be done for us and sure enough… we didn’t lift a finger all day! Some of our guests even had their dress sewn up after a dress disaster by one of the lovely staff who had sewing kits on them! Our guests were taken care of, individual needs catered for and all our guests comments on how amazing Gote barn was and his incredible the food and staff were!

The Mediterranean feast went down an absolute treat…especially on the hot weather we had! Everyone asked how we had found this amazing place! A big thank you to Will and Polly who own the barn. It was so wonderful having it as a place that didn’t feel like a corporate place or that we were the fifth people having a wedding there that week! We felt thought about! There aren’t the words to say how much we loved having our wedding at Gote Barn with Circa. Thank you to everyone who helped make this the best day of our lives.
