An idyllic, intimate venue half way up Hallin Fell, this glorious, private farmstead has a stunning glass extension and broad terrace overlooking sweeping hills above Ullswater. Renovated to the standard of a five star hotel, but with the privacy of a hermitage, it’s licensed for weddings so you can hold your ceremony and party in one unique place. (If you’re having a church service, the beautiful parish church of St Peters with its stained glass or the simple chapel of St Martins with its thousand-year-old yew tree are both a short walk away.)

Your celebration is the only event happening. You know every face. You have free run of the space. You’re assured of the luxurious standards and attention to detail you’d expect at a five-star hotel, but you bypass the conveyor-belt anonymity of a corporate venue. No competing activities or other wedding parties. We limit the number of weddings held in a year at Hause Hall so you’re guaranteed individual attention. Our weddings expert is readily available to help with suggestions and recommendations. We want you to feel as if your wedding day is being hosted by a loving family member who happens to have a romantic home in which to celebrate.

Our kitchens are fully equipped to professional standards, with an Aga, gas hob, electric oven, two dishwashers and American fridge freezers for cooling champagne. We have several catering options from trusted providers whom we have handpicked and know well for their excellent standards and creativity. We can recommend all of them wholeheartedly and they would be happy to work with you on your menus. Unlike some of the bigger hotels and venues, we do not build in any sort of mark-up on catering or wine corkage.

Up to 18 guests may stay at the Hall, Cruick Barn and Stables for an intimate wedding. And the charming Howtown Hotel just at the foot of the hill has space for more.

Hold drinks and photographs on the spectacular sandstone terrace. If Cumbrian mists descend, they won’t dampen your day, just move into the impressive glass Day Room: the view is the same.
