Not too far off the beaten path, this lovely country house hotel occupies one of the most beautiful spots in the Lake District, perched up high and surrounded by glorious woodland, with its magnificent grounds framed by the flush of the River Troutbeck that tumbles into Lake Windermere. Built in 1836, Broadoaks is a grand Belle of the Lakes and a great wedding venue. Traditionally built from Lake District stone and slate, her sweeping driveway and seven acres of beautifully landscaped grounds are perfectly placed to furnish you with views across to Windermere and The Langdale Pikes.

The beautifully proportioned inside spaces are warm, inviting and often playful, mixing stylish modernity with inglenook fireplaces and period furniture. We offer crackling fires and comfy beds, furnished with warm, tactile and beautifully made fabrics, from caramel cashmeres to crisp white cottons.

The secluded gardens, the magical beck that runs through the grounds and the Lake District scenery provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs.

For weddings and civil partnerships to be held outside, our crisp, white, licensed gazebo sits at the head of a velvety wedding green. Not using the wedding green but want to get here in a hurry? That’s fine; when we’re not using the green for those tying the knot outdoors it doubles as a handy helipad.

And for a wonderful night's sleep, once the celebrations are over, our 20 recently refreshed and refurbished, deliciously individual rooms are there for you to use at the end of your big day.
