Goodnestone is a quintessential English country house, recently renovated and restored to full glory and available for exclusive use. Traditional with a chic contemporary twist, it’s fabulous without being formal; your own perfect Palladian pad. For the ultimate in fairy-tale romance, follow in the footsteps of Jane Austen’s brother and tie the knot at Goodnestone.
Whether in the church, garden or house, it’s a truly special place for the most important day of your life – an idyllic setting for an idyllic country wedding. Set in the heart of the Kent countryside, Goodnestone is under an hour by train from London and under 30 minutes’ drive from Dover.
This Palladian mansion is the perfect place for a picturesque wedding. Surrounded by parkland and gardens, the bride and her bridesmaids can spend time getting ready in the Goodnestone mansion. The luxuriously-furnished rooms have views stretching over the east-facing parterre and into the extensive countryside, an idyllic backdrop for getting ready on your wedding day.
If you wish to have a traditional religious ceremony, Goodnestone’s historic Holy Cross Church is only 5 minutes walk from the house. If you prefer to have a civil ceremony, this can be arranged too.
Your wedding reception can be held in one of numerous locations in the house’s grounds; each wedding is tailored to the individual.
The wedding party can stay in Goodnestone Park House, which sleeps up to 24 people in the 12 newly-furnished double bedrooms. Goodnestone Park also has a recently refurbished cottage on the estate, Bonnington Cottage, that four other guests can stay in. Additional guests can enjoy a glamping experience in the grounds.
