As you arrive through the impressive archway under the portcullis into the stunning cobbled courtyard of the Castle, you will be following in the footsteps of Royalty from a bygone age.

Bolton Castle is one of the country’s best preserved medieval castles; originally built in 1399 as one of the finest and most luxurious homes in the land, the Castle bears the scars of over 600 years of fascinating history.

Imagine marrying in a beautiful candle lit room in the Castle with a Barn Owl quietly flying down the aisle to deliver your wedding rings at just the right moment as you say your vows to each other and your guests being entertained by our falconry display as you have your photographs taken in the beautiful backdrop of the Castle and its grounds. Release two or ten Doves to symbolise your everlasting love for each other before you and your guests proceed with the day of celebrations in the magnificent Great Chamber.

If you wish to have a religious ceremony or blessing, the medieval church of St Oswald’s is adjacent to the castle and can accommodate up to 150 people.

We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships on site and can cater for up to 120 guests for the ceremony and reception and up to an additional 120 guests for the evening.

There are a great range of menus, drinks packages and venue hire options as well as additional extras to enable you to create your perfect wedding day. Our designated caterer, Guy Fairhurst, has been passionate about food and cookery since childhood. Guy and his team are determined to combine the best local and homemade produce with a friendly welcome and excellent service and can provide you with a wonderful choice of menus to suit all tastes and budgets.

We can also recommend excellent florists, bands, Medieval Musicians and entertainers, DJs, Horse and Carriages, Bagpipers, photographers and virtually anything else you are looking for and will do our best to help you plan a day that is unique and perfect for you.
