Apton Hall is an award-winning unique and exclusive wedding & events venue set in the idyllic Essex countryside. The rustic charm throughout our courtyard buildings, accommodation and Grade II listed Dovecot Suite, creates the perfect blend of historical features with a modern design, creating the perfect space for your special occasion.

Boasting original brickwork and lovingly restored farm buildings, our venue really is one of a kind with a feel like no other. Designed in a horse-shoe shape around our picturesque Courtyard, Apton Hall flows perfectly by starting on one side of the venue and working your way around throughout the day. With beautiful views of the Essex countryside everywhere you look, there is no shortage of spaces to escape to for breath-taking photo opportunities.

You can access the venue from as early as 8:30am on the morning of your wedding. The Beauty Barn at Apton Hall is the perfect place to start. This beautiful, spacious room offers lots of natural light which makes it an idyllic space for hairdressers and make-up artists to begin. With complimentary tea & coffee available, we also have a selection of continental breakfast options. A foliage wall with neon sign gives you a stunning backdrop to capture picture perfect memories with your nearest and dearest. Comfy seating, mirrors, dressing tables, ring-light’s and a bluetooth speaker creates the perfect atmosphere for the morning of your wedding.

Here at Apton Hall, we have 4 licensed ceremony spaces for you to choose from. Our original stables have been lovingly transformed into a beautiful indoor ceremony room, boasting large wooden beams and original brickwork. This indoor ceremony space seats a maximum of 100 guests. On the left side we have fully functioning stable doors that can be opened if the weather is nice. The glass windows are closed as you take your walk from the Dovecot so that your guests don’t see you. This creates an air of excitement and they are then opened back up to let in the natural light as you walk down the aisle. As you can see, our stables boast beautiful brickwork so you can decorate this space as little or as much as you wish.

Our New Barn is another licensed indoor ceremony space for weddings with up to a maximum of 180 guests. Glass bi-folding doors open out on to the Courtyard in the Summer months and let natural sunlight in even when closed in the Winter months. In the centre of Apton Hall, our outdoor ceremony area can seat up to 180 guests. Our Gazebo is fully licensed to hold outdoor civil ceremonies and you are welcome to decorate it however you would like. Our alternative outdoor ceremony space is our Walled Garden. In this rustic garden setting you can seat up to 100 guests. With the blossomed flowers in the Summer months, it can add a colourful addition to your photos.

The Snug Bar is the true hub of the venue, opening prior to your ceremony and closing at midnight when the music stops. The Snug Bar has a more chilled atmosphere with comfy chairs and a log burner for those cold winter nights. During the summer the double doors can be opened to provide access to the Pond Garden - a beautiful green area, perfect for an outdoor drinks reception in the warmer months. The Snug is an area where everyone can relax and enjoy a few drinks.

The New Barn is the newest addition to Apton Hall’s courtyard buildings. It also features our wishing well, found when renovating the barn in 2016. Creating the most beautiful setting for your wedding breakfast, our glass bi-folding doors run along one entire side of the room, they can be opened out on to the Courtyard for those hotter summer months and let in plenty of light during the winter months. With touches of brickwork and natural light in abundance, no amount of decor is right or wrong. Keep it simple with just foliage or splash out for the brighter floral centrepieces, whatever your theme and style, it fits this beautiful room. For larger guest numbers, we even have an extension that doubles the size of the room to accommodate 200 covers. The extension has another beautiful full length glass wall and boasts views of the Coach House and Walled Garden.

Our in-house catering team offer extensive menu options for your big day, from a seated wedding breakfast to a more casual BBQ option. You are able to create your own menu for your guests, offering choices for each course. We simply adore great food, which can tell so many stories.

Originally the farm’s cowshed, this large area is now a beautifully decorated, fully air-conditioned evening reception room. With the lights dimmed and the dance floor full, this area is host to our larger main bar which is open throughout the evening and where the party really starts.

Our beautiful Dovecot is the perfect place to finish off your mornings preparations ready for your ceremony. With room for your closest wedding party to share the excitement with you as your guests arrive, it’s one of our most adored courtyard buildings at the venue. Not only do you start your day here, but you finish the day as Newlyweds in the luxurious bedroom, that’s just a stones throw from the dance floor at the end of the night. This discrete and spectacular space was specifically designed to enhance the magnificent features of exposed oak beams and vaulted ceiling over the bedroom. The room, featuring a super king bed with bespoke embroidered cushions, chaise longue at the foot of the bed and adjacent roll-top bath, offers the ultimate romantic night away. The biggest and most beautiful suite on site, is spread across two floors boasting a separate cosy sitting room and large bathroom with walk-in shower.

Apton Hall features seven luxurious guest rooms in different contemporary styles, each designed to create a place to relax and unwind. Each room is decorated and furnished to the highest possible standard, named after surrounding fields at Apton Hall Farm. Overnight stay includes a Full English & Continental Breakfast served in our spacious Grade II listed Granary, boasting traditional features such as exposed beams and wooden floors.
It is the ideal place for newlywed couples and guests to meet for breakfast the morning after your wedding day. This relaxed environment means guests can refuel before they head home from Apton Hall.
