Whilst a grand country house or a historic church can make for a spectacular wedding, some couples prefer something a little bit different. Here’s a few of our favourite unusual wedding venues for a big day to remember.

Harvest Moon Weddings, Scotland

Beaches, or woodland? How about both? With a gorgeous white sand beach and a lush, atmospheric forest just a short walk away, this venue has a huge variety of backdrops, from rocky outcrops to sea views to rolling meadows. You can spend the night in their Arabian Nights-style honeymoon cabin, or snuggle down in their cosy woodland treehouse with spectacular views across the countryside. The choice is yours!

Mr Moleceys Marvellous Mill, Lincolnshire

This wonderful playground of a venue has everything from a charming old Mill to Beatrix Potter-style woodlands. Capture beautiful photos over 2 acres of grounds filled with rivers and streams, as well as islands and landscaped gardens. At the end of the day, retire to the 6-bedroom 18th Century Granary Mill, or even the cosy Duck House, a one-bedroom retreat next to the willow lawn.

Hidden River Cabins, Cumbria

Step straight into a fairytale with this idyllic venue. There are five riverside cabins to choose from, evenly spaced along the countryside, and all with that picture-perfect log cabin look. If that wasn't enough, they also have a 17th Century Manor House on site that can sleep up to 20 guests - each wing even has its own hot tub!

Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hampshire

This gorgeous venue has all the beauty of an ocean view combined with stylish ceremony rooms and brilliant photo opportunities. Situated on the Southhampton Coast, it’s available for exclusive hire, so you can tailor your day perfectly to suit both your tastes. Blackfriars Priory, Gloucestershire

I know we said no churches, but this one’s a little different - with over 700 years of history, this spectacular venue boasts a 65ft scissor braced ceiling, with original oak beams gifted to the site by Henry III. The modern repairs bring beautiful patchwork quality to the site, and with a variety of spaces from a tiny, intimate 14-person mediaeval kitchen to their stunning North Range with space for 230 seated guests, there’s plenty of gorgeous options for a historic wedding.
