Blackfriars Priory is a venue of international importance. Standing on the site is the Scriptorium, which is believed to be the oldest standing purpose-built library in Northern Europe.

For weddings of 50+ guests, the iconic North Range is the ideal space. Guests will be mesmerised by the 65ft scissor-braced ceiling, which displays original 13th century oak beams that were gifted to the site by King Henry III.

For couples looking for a more intimate wedding day, the Upper East Range is an atmospheric room with a beautiful scissor-braced ceiling, wooden floors and quirky ancient windows. For 50 guests or less, couples can enjoy the unique charm of the Priory in this stunning setting, decorated with fairy lights at no additional cost.

Finally, for those seeking a micro-wedding, the newly licenced 'Old Kitchen' in the lower East Range is the perfect room. Suitable for up to 14 people. the old kitchen earns its name from its use in the 16th century, when it was the kitchen serving Thomas Bell's mansion. The remains of the bread oven still exist and with the rare herringbone fireplace, the old kitchen will delight your guests.
