Welcome to the Old Cow Shed. The cows have moved on, the shed has been completely renovated and it's now an absolute stunner of a wedding venue located in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside. We have a relaxed, informal approach here which allows you to plan your uniquely perfect wedding, exactly the way you want it.

When you hire The Old Cow Shed, you are also getting use of the amazing 4 bedroomed Big Barn, the canvas-covered Courtyard, a bar area, a big, green paddock and a patio under the stars. We are essentially a 'dry hire' venue, so what you see is what you get. The flowers, decorations, balloons etc are all entirely your choice. This way you get to put a truly unique and individual stamp on your day. If you would like us to recommend local suppliers, we have some incredible, trusted people who we can hand-on-heart recommend! Just ask!

The Old Cow Shed is now licensed for weddings and can offer civil marriages, renewal of vows and civil partnerships. For those dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, The Courtyard makes a beautiful setting or during the colder months, The Shed itself provides the perfect space.

You also have use of The Paddock situated just behind The Shed. There is so much space to play with out here, so if you are thinking of eating alfresco or you fancy hiring a tipi or marquee, this is the spot.






For everything food and drink, we work with the great "Thomas the Caterer". Not only has Tom and his team won countless awards (including gold at the British Pie Awards!) but put pure and simply, they make really delicious food. The team will create a menu completely bespoke to you and deliver it on the day with the best staff in the business. And another exciting fact..... the Old Cow Shed does not charge corkage so if you prefer to bring your own, go ahead and bring on the bottles!!

We will provide tables and chairs for all your wedding guests, as well as outdoor lighting, heating and seating. We’re here to help wherever we can from the start of your planning until the big day itself. We want to ensure you have a stress free day.

And for those who want to make a weekend of it, as well as the beautiful Big Barn, we have three Shepherd Huts available for your guests. There are also a handful of hotels in Melton Mowbray, as well as nearby B&Bs and holiday cottages.
