Clifton Observatory is a landmark wedding venue located in Bristol, England. Established in 1766, this location offers spectacular, unforgettable views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the city of Bristol and it’s easy to see why it’s considered to be one of the most beautiful and romantic spots in the city.
With an historic ambience and a range of unique event spaces, the observatory is the perfect picturesque location for your big day. Our staff are dedicated to helping your wedding go smoothly.
Say I Do in our recently refurbished William West Room. Furnished with a stunning chandelier and striking décor, the William West room can seat up to 60 guests, with room for additional standing guests.
For a more intimate occasions, civil ceremonies can be held in the observatory town, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding areas. The tower has a sitting or standing capacity of 10-15 guests.
For an extra unique experience, civil ceremonies can be held in the Giant’s Cave, a 130-step climb down through the cliffs to the viewing platform overlooking the Avon Gorge. The cave capacity is approx. 20 standing guests.
For ceremonies held in the William West room, guests will be invited to the 360 rooftop terrace after the ceremony to celebrate the new couple and take in the spectacular skyline.
If your ceremony takes place in the tower or the Giant’s Cave, your guests will be provided a celebratory drink to toast the occasion while enjoying the views from the tower or the viewing platform.
