In beautiful North Wales, nestling in the foothills of the Clwydian range, stands Pentre Mawr Country House. An exclusive-use wedding venue and five-star hotel in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We host bespoke weddings and self-catering cottages. We sit in over 200 acres of parkland, woods and meadows and enjoy half a mile of fishing in the Clwydog river.

We have a modern approach to our weddings. We believe that the more you feel at home, the more relaxed and enjoyable your stay with us will be. There really is no limit to the kind of wedding day you can create for yourself – and it all begins with your choice of venue.

Here, we’re breaking all the rules! So, if it’s your dream to get married in a Secret Walled Garden, you can. If a rustic barn is your thing, no problem. Go completely bonkers, how about a genuine African Safari Lodge? Maybe vintage is more you, the elegant country house provides the perfect setting for an intimate wedding. Or if you are set on an outdoor wedding, we have the magical Garden Terrace overlooking the Clwydian Hills.

At Pentre Mawr we understand how important it is to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of and so we want to make that happen. We have the Country House, that’s yours for the weekend. We have the beautiful lined marquees for you to marry in and decorate as your own. Here we even have our very own Pinterest room, full of everything you need to make it happen. Table centres, bunting, lanterns, chair sashes and lawn games. Plus all the little fun bits too, like the photo wall, candy cart and doughnut wall.

If you want to bring in your own table wine with no corkage, of course you can. Our favourite saying is, ‘If it’s legal and can physically be done the answer is YES!’ It goes without saying, you have the complete freedom to design every aspect of your day. We recommend what we call our ‘Pentre Perfect Partners’, contractors whose work we’ve seen and know, but don’t feel obliged to use them. Whether you marry here or not, they’re great people to use to make your day perfect.

And to add to the memorable weekend for your friends and family, why not invite them to stay in one of our African Safari lodges with their own private hot tub. If they'd prefer solid walls then our fabulous cottage suites are just the thing. And don't worry.... they have hot tubs too. Or for something even more elegant, the beautiful bedrooms in the main house with their huge jacuzzi baths would be just perfect.
