We provide a beautiful country house retreat, full of history and character and all set within the glorious grounds of The MacRobert Trust Estate in the Scottish Highlands. Following a major renovation, our historic house reopened its doors in June 2016, offering guests a luxurious Scottish countryside stay.

We offer our Library Package for couples seeking a small, intimate wedding for up to 14 guests. Enjoy the beautiful setting of our Library for the ceremony and private dining. The entire wedding party can be accommodated onsite, both at the main house and the adjacent apartments and holiday cottages. We offer 13 elegantly furnished bedrooms in our main building. While guest rooms range in size and style, all showcase an innovative classic-contemporary design, combining the building’s remarkable heritage with Scottish tradition and modern luxuries. Douneside House also offers a range of apartments and cottages, which are perfect for family and other wedding guests to stay once the evening celebrations finish.

The wedding couple has the option of getting ready and watching their guests arrive from the comfort of our bridal suite, Lady MacRobert’s room, which features spectacular views over the infinity lawn.

We are delighted to be the North East's only AA three rosette awarded restaurant. Our menus are seasonal and make use of the fantastic larder available to us in Aberdeenshire. Our Chefs also have access to an abundance of organic fruit and vegetables which are grown in our own kitchen garden. We pride ourselves on offering our guests a highly personalised event and our Head Chef David Butters (Executive Hotel Chef of the Year 2019, Scottish Hotel Awards) and his team would be delighted to accommodate any culinary preferences or dietary requests you may have.

In addition to all of this, don't forget The Health Club which offers a range of excellent facilities. These include a 12.5 metre swimming pool, sauna and steam room, state-of-the-art gymnasium, games room and all weather tennis court.
