At Cote How we specialise in smaller, more intimately styled weddings from 2-50 guests, offering a variety of ceremony locations including our award winning rustic barn, our elegantly styled Wordsworth Room or the panoramic Fairfield Room. Caroline and Steve run Cote How together and are always onsite and dedicated to making your day just perfect. Renowned for her attention to detail and with Caroline’s 30 years’ experience as a bridalwear designer then hotelier, Caroline provides a full planning service for every wedding and will guide each couple every step of the way, from initial enquiry through to their wedding day and beyond.

The Wordsworth – Newly refurbished Louis XIV white linen elegance is ideal for 2-12 guests;
The Woodrow – A cosy oak paneled reception room with large open fire, oak beamed ceiling and traditional huntsman’s bar for 2-24 guests.

Rustic Barn Weddings - if you prefer the rustic outdoors, then our traditional Lakeland slate barn is the perfect place. Tie the knot under the eaves of this stunning oak beamed barn with your guests in the glorious sunshine on the barn terrace or in the garden gazebo looking towards Nab Scar and the lake, with the mountains as your witnesses!

Summer lawn weddings - these are held on the magnificent croquet lawn enjoying the stunning panoramic views of the spectacular Lakeland fells from all angles and are amazing Humanist celebrations.

Our food menus are all designed and prepared from exceptional locally sourced ingredients with all special diets catered for. You choose which elements of food and drinks you prefer.

Destination Weddings
As most of our happy couples travel to the Lakes to get married, we have ensured that we provide a first-class wedding-ready venue with everything you require already in place – from the pretty fairy-lit outdoor spaces to the apple blossom adorned barn, rustic bunting and festoon lighting. We can also provide flowers, photography and entertainment should you wish. You also have the option of adding finishing touches to our decor to add your own personal theme.
