Cardney Steading is a rural barn style, wedding venue in Scotland. We invite you to enjoy our estate and farm and everything it has to offer. Unlike other countryside venues, our indoor and outdoor areas are all easy to access and close at hand. Each indoor space opens out onto our beautiful covered courtyard, so there’s no need to worry about the weather.

For us, great weddings and events are about making the very most of your time together. With our private cottages on site, Dunkeld just minutes away and plenty of scenic camping spots for those extra guests, you’ll be free to indulge in as many (or as few) outdoor activities as you like. From fishing on the loch to clay pigeon shooting to exploring the trails Scotland is famous for. We’re proud to be a dog-friendly venue and we have equestrian facilities if you’d like to bring your horse, too. Our exclusive use venue ensures perfect peace and privacy for your special day.

The Cattle Shed - a contemporary space that’s been lovingly restored to preserve its rustic barn character. Natural light pours in through the large sliding doors, revealing stunning views out onto the loch, woodlands and beyond.

The Old Mill - Cosy and intimate aren’t words you’d usually use to describe a traditional, stone-built mill house. But this endearing space manages to combine rustic-grandeur with a home-from-home feel. Enjoy all the character of a rustic barn wedding and still have a small ceremony with close family and friends. Large double doors open directly onto the central courtyard area, giving you the freedom to transform the space throughout your day.

Lochside Wedding - If you’ve always dreamed of a waterside wedding, then you’ll fall in love all over again by the Cardney Loch. Set at the foot of Craig More, the tranquil lochside offers breathtaking views on a summer’s day and a dramatic backdrop in wilder weathers. You can capture the most stunning photographs when dark clouds gather over the glen.

Woodland Weddings - When you stand by the lochside and look across the water, you can almost make out a small clearing in the trees. Just a short walk over the bridge and up a winding path will bring you into the Woodland Clearing. Like everything at Cardney, the clearing feels like you’re a million miles from anywhere yet it’s just steps away from the main venue. And it’s filled with hidden photo opportunities, from fallen trees to ancient stones, making it the perfect place to capture unique woodland wedding photographs or even have your ceremony.

Double Barrel Bar and Courtyard - Our unique bar sits at the heart of the steading, serving both the inside and outdoor courtyard. Open and inviting, the bar connects all the main areas of the venue to give your day a relaxed and sociable feel. And although we’ve restored many of the space’s original fittings and quirks, we’ve taken care to include all the luxuries of a modern venue.

The Fire Pit - Love surprises? Escape through the back of the bar area and warm yourself by the Fire Pit. Perfect for catching up and toasting marshmallows, hidden from the world. This little woodland clearing sits in the wake of Craig More, where children and adults gather to hear tales from its mysterious ‘Spooky Valley’.

Powder Room - When your wedding-day-glow needs a little topping up or you just need a break between dances, slip off to the Powder Room. Tucked away in the old stable block, this glamorous sanctuary is fully equipped with everything you need to reapply those finishing touches. Secure and lockable, it doubles as a safe place for special gifts and valuables while the party is in full swing.
