Predicted Wedding Trends for 2022
9th November 2021

What to expect when you’re expecting a wedding? A wedding is just as unique and as wonderful as the couple to be wed are, but it’s always a good idea to stay updated on the latest and greatest trends to expect in 2022. Stay ahead of the game to make your big day the most spectacular and exciting event for you and your guests.
Luckily, we at Amazing Space Weddings always keep our eyes on the prize! After almost two years with on and off lockdowns and restrictions, 2022 weddings are about to go off with a bang…
Sequel Weddings

A trend that has had a particular resurgence thanks to lockdowns laws; Sequel Weddings saw a 9,900% uplift in Google searches this year. Tons of couples were forced to celebrate their vows in a very minimalist and intimate way with a tiny ceremony.
In a lot of couples' minds, this was just the legal confirmation. Now lockdown is done and dusted, it is time to party. Symbolic ceremonies and huge parties are incoming to make up for the quiet original - and we couldn’t be more excited!
Environmentally Sustainable Weddings

Weddings can result in a lot of waste, and with the world focusing a lot more on how we can be more sustainable, the wedding industry is taking note. Rented dresses have seen a rise in interest, with brides choosing to shop for multiple dresses for the day without the guilt of a big price tag and waste. Suit renting for Grooms has been a long tradition, so perhaps it was about time the brides took note.
Earthy, nature inspired palettes seem to be the latest shift colour theme wise, couples choosing to appreciate nature. Gone are the traditional whites and pastels. Out with the old, in with the new!
Unusual Entertainment

Forget the band, forget the DJ; get the flamethrower in! We know that couples are gunning for a big party for their 2022 wedding to make up for the last couple of years, and they are throwing out the rulebook for traditional entertainment in favour of something a lot more bold. You might spot a few bouncy castles, petting zoos and circus performers as a wedding guest in 2022.
Weekday Events
This one might be less than ideal. With all the cancellations in 2020 and 2021, there is a lot of competition for wedding dates. Availability is slimmer than ever, and those wonderful weekend weddings have been snapped up. Get ready to cry over some vows on a Monday night, and prepare for a Tuesday hangover.

Destination Weddings
Admittedly, these have always been popular, but more couples than ever are taking a serious look at this option. As holidays have become a possibility again, people are jumping at the chance to combine their dream wedding with a dream holiday. Who can really blame them?

Bridgerton Aesthetic
Gone are the days of a wedding fit for a princess - now we are all about Regency era nobility thanks to the hit Netflix series! Bridgerton follows the story of a young woman navigating the marriage market in Regency London, and the story has certainly been quite the inspiration for wedding planning couples.

Historical architecture, baldachin ceilings with grand ballrooms are seeing a surge of interest, as well as dresses with puffy sleeves, corsets and long gloves. With the new season predicted to come out in Springtime next year, this trend won’t die down anytime soon.
Garden Venues
Safety first… if you'd prefer to maintain social distance and clear air in 2022, outside Garden venues are the ideal choice where you'll be able to rest easy knowing that your honeymoon won't be ruined by Covid. Whether these spots will handle the UK weather remains to be seen - fingers crossed for a beautiful 2022 summer season!
