Ideas for a Bright & Colourful Wedding

During these dark and gloomy months of the year, it can be tricky to picture your wedding in all its vibrant glory. And whilst a wintery black & white weddng has a certain chiq about it, there's nothing quite like a celebration bursting with colour.
For those of you looking for some inspiration for a colourful celebration, here's a few of our favourite tips for a brightening up your wedding.
Decorations
Flowers, streamers, baubles, they can all be a cost-effective way of bringing colour into your wedding. Wild flowers, sunflowers and an abundance of greenery make unique bouquets and table centrepieces, with sunflowers being a particularly budget-friendly choice. Paper decorations can also be an effective and eco-friendly option - these lovely paper lanterns at Askham Hall add a nice pop of colour to the ceiling. Streamers and rainbow confetti also look great in both couple and guest pictures, so you'll have a whole album of bright and beautiful photos.
Switch up the Seating
This doesn't mean putting your primary school mates near your mother-in-law - the chairs themselves are often overlooked during wedding planning. At The Flint Room, they've had the wonderful idea of adding antique armchairs, sofas and all manner of beautiful furniture to your wedding ceremony to bring the whole venue to life, as well as providing a talking point for your guests.
Lights
For a bit more flexibility, you could invest in some colourful lights for your wedding decor (or go for a venue that already has a good range). This way, you can have the best of both worlds - an elegant white wedding followed by a vibrant party atmosphere, no matter the colour scheme.

Smoke Bombs
These have been all the rage at weddings for a while now, and for good reason - not only do they add a bit of fun to your wedding day, but they look sublime in your wedding photography. Two for the couple themselves or a whole range for your bridesmaids and groomsmen, they look great in many different ways - held aloft or let off behind to give an interesting, colourful backdrop. Make sure you let your photographer know in advance so they can get the best out of the smoke, and of course bring a big metal bucket and some water to make sure they're extinguished. They're technically fireworks, so it's safety first!
A Colourful Venue
Some venues don't need a lot of dressing to create a vibrant setting. Netherbyres House, pictured below, is filled with bright rooms, quirky furnishings and beautiful decor to bring your big day to life. There's a pink bar, a regal blue dining room (complete with neon pink flamingo painting), but the star of the show is their stunning rose garden that's brimming with colour.
